Perry began her dance training at the Academy of Dance Arts in Winston-Salem North Carolina. Her professional training includes the School of the San Francisco Ballet, the School of American Ballet in New York City and the North Carolina School of the Arts (NCSA) where she attended junior high school and high school majoring in Ballet. Upon graduation from NCSA, Ms. Mauzy danced with the Charleston Ballet Theatre (CBT) in Charleston, South Carolina from 1989-2000. As well as being a soloist dancer with the company, Ms. Mauzy taught on the CBT faculty for 11 years and was the choreographic assistant to resident choreographer Jill Earthorne Bahr. From 2000-2004 Ms. Mauzy attended Salem College in Winston-Salem, NC where she graduated magna cum laude with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Arts Management. Her academic studies allowed her to be a student at St. Peter's College of Oxford University in the United Kingdom and at the University of Edinburgh in Scotland where she received a Master of Science degree in the History of Art. Ms. Mauzy has been a Pilates instructor for the past five years and currently teaches at the Mindful Movement Center in Winston-Salem. She is also an instructor at the academy of Dance Arts and performs with the Sidelong Dance Company based in Winston-Salem.
